Winners will represent Te Piringa on the National Stage at the Criminal Bar Association Conference!
By registering for the moot using this form, you confirm that you are willing and able to participate during the 20th to the 24th of July. Any late withdrawals may result in a temporary ban from future events with TPSEA.

Te Piringa Pride Intersex Moot
The Te Piringa Pride Intersex Moot is a brand-new addition to the competitions calendar, brought to you through a collaborative partnership between Te Piringa Pride (the Rainbow Division) and Te Piringa Competitions.
This event is designed to foster inclusive legal advocacy while tackling complex issues at the intersection of law and identity. This is a unique opportunity to engage with critical legal questions in a supportive environment.
Special Acknowledgement
The concept for this moot and the official moot problem were developed by Dr. Regina Starling (PhD, LLM, LLB), a Teaching Fellow of Law at Te Piringa. Dr. Starling is the first openly intersex person in Aotearoa New Zealand to be awarded a PhD. Her distinguished research portfolio spans human rights law, privacy, indigenous data sovereignty, and the socio-legal effects of intersex status. We are honored to have her expertise guiding this inaugural competition.
Competition Details
• Eligibility: Open to all LLB and LLM students of any year.
• Partners: You do not need a partner to register! If you sign up individually, you will be paired with another student.
• Judging: Competitors will be judged as a team rather than individually. The competition will be adjudicated by external judges, primarily legal practitioners, providing you with professional feedback and networking opportunities.
• Prize Pool: A total of $200 is up for grabs ($100 per winner).
Important Dates
The competition will take place across three rounds in May:
• Preliminary Round: 18th of May
• Second Round: 19th of May
• Grand Final: 22nd of May
Location
The rounds will be held within the Faculty of Law, with the final rounds taking place in the Moot Court.
